Just watched a talk of Reggie McNeal, the Missional Leadership Specialist for Leadership Network of Dallas, TX. In this video, McNeal talks about about the similarities of the church now and the church in AD 30.

What struck me most is the reminder that we really need to get out and meet the people and pray for them. It's not about hoping someone will walk in the doors of our church but about going out and meeting the people where they are at. That's what Jesus did.

Can't remember if I sent you this, but this is Shawn Brace's three part thoughts on how to really meet people and then grow a relationship to the point where caring about them seems only natural and not forced. Seems along the same lines as McNeal's talk.

Yeah, I believe that you did send that to me. It's very good. One of my favorite quotes is along those same lines:
